Spidering settings
This page is no longer relevant / supported.
The indexing settings will determine how G-Mapper spiders your
website to find files to include in your sitemap.
- List the files in a particular folder on my website
In this mode you tell G-Mapper where your website is saved on your local computer.
G-Mapper then looks through all the files and sub folders to find files to include.
Note : This is how always G-mapper worked up until version 2.5
- Spider my website on my computer
In this mode you tell G-Mapper where your home page is saved on your local computer.
G-Mapper then looks for links in the homepage and attempts to follow them listing
them in your sitemap as it goes.
- Spider my live website
In this mode you tell G-Mapper visits your website homepage and then looks for links to follow,
listing them in your sitemap as it goes.
To use this mode you must place a small code in
the top of your website page to prove to G-Mapper that you own the website.
Note : This is the slowest way to index your website as every page must be
requested from your server.
You must also tell G-Mapper the type of files to include in the sitemap. You should enter a comma separated list such as
.htm, .html, .shtml, .aspx
