G-Mapper XML Sitemap Generator Update We’ve been working on new code for this version for some time and this release (version 3.1) includes the spider back-end changes discussed in our previous online sitemap generator release, as well as some improvements to the user interface. This version is first being released in Beta as it is not yet fully tested. It should install alongside your existing G-Mapper installation so you can run both.

New G-Mapper version available We’re pleased to announce the release of G-Mapper version 220.127.116.11. This version includes the changes previously released in the online version as well as a few enhancements and bug fixes. We have finally decided to purchase a code signing certificate to remove some of those nasty windows warning about untrusted applications! If you can help contribute towards our costs we really appreciate your support. Diagnostic tool We added a diagnostic tool to our online sitemap generator some time ago.

G-Mapper updates Sorry we’ve been quiet for a while. As a free service run on volunteers and donations it isn’t always easy to keep on top of what is essentially another business! We’re pleased to say recently we have been making a number of updates to the service and hope to bring you more over the coming months. We recently updated G-Mapper to bring it in line with the online service as well as address a number of bugs including random crashing which has been an annoyance for a number of users.

Latest updates Online Sitemap Generator New : verbose logging output. New : Increased the page size we will parse. Fix : Last modified date not captured from server. Fix: Page excluded when child page errors.. G-Mapper Includes the online sitemap generator fixes as well as: Fix : crashing on load when version check cannot reach internet Known issues : Random crashes. May sometimes be caused by “Faulting module name: clr.dll” error in Microsoft .

Latest G-Mapper bug fixes We’ve recently been getting a lot more really useful feedback about bugs and issues relating to G-Mapper v3.x. With your continued testing and support we hope that soon we will be able to declare version 3 a stable release. In the latest update we have resolved a number of issues : Fix : Items marked as excluded not being excluded. Fix : Scroll bars not showing when map opened.

Latest bug fixes We’ve recently made a number of smaller changes to address bugs and issues in G-Mapper and Wordpress. G-Mapper Fix : Cancel button on settings page not working. Fix : After correcting a setting the validation errors don’t clear. Fix : Editing modified date causes crash Fix : Editing row makes and item excluded. Fix : Updating help links. Fix : Updated to latest spider engine to resolve image sitemap issues.

A few new updates and fixes We’ve recently been making some improvements to our online service to fix a number of issues and improve performance. We’re also working hard to add additional resilience and fault handling to reduce the impact of problems that sometimes occur. Sitemap generator updates We’ve been fixing and patching a couple of issues over the last few weeks, here is a quick round up of issues that we’ve looked at : Online Sitemap Generator When trying to spider certain secure websites a number of users experienced the error : “The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.” To resolve this issues we have added support for more HTTPS protocols including deprecated protocols.

Minor updates and fixes applied We’ve made some minor updates to our spider for the online and windows version of our sitemap generator. Binary files Binary files such as Word Document, Adobe PDF, etc. previously just showed the HTTP server response such as “Ok”. We now simply show the filename of such files. Domain names We have relaxed validation on domain names so it is not essential to use punycode. You can therefore decide which domain name you want to use for your sitemap.

Improved HTML sitemaps format We’ve improved and simplified the HTML sitemap feature. Your pages will now display in a simplified hierarchy based on the order in which our spider finds them, instead of the flat list. We also removed the URL to keep the list simpler.
